Work break pay calculator
By Osvald Studio
Enter an hourly rate and the length of a break to estimate that time’s value in the same currency as your rate. The calculation is arithmetic only; whether a break is paid depends on your work arrangement. It does not calculate payroll, taxes or legal entitlements.
The formula works without JavaScript
Break value = hourly rate × break minutes ÷ 60.
Example
At an hourly rate of 12 and a 15-minute break, 12 × 15 ÷ 60 = 3 in your chosen currency. These are illustrative inputs, not typical pay or the price of BreakPay.
Use the same units
Enter a rate per hour, not per day or month. If you start with a monthly salary, divide it by your scheduled working hours for that month first. Keep every input in the same currency. Use zero for an unpaid estimate you do not want to count; negative values are not accepted.
Track your breaks in BreakPay
The calculator shows one estimate. BreakPay on Android adds a break timer and history so you can follow coffee breaks, lunch and daily totals using your own pay and schedule. Store clicks are not evidence of installation or payment.
